Horizontal thin film evaporator(수평형 박막증류기)는 일반적인 박막증류기와 가동원리는 같으나 Evaporator가 수직(vertical type)이 아닌 수평형으로 장착되어있습니다. 주로 점도가 높은 물질에서 대용량으로 용매(solvent)나 저비점 휘발성 물질(light volatile) 증류 및 현탁액 등의 inhomoguenous 공정에 적용됩니다.

수평형 박막증류기는 evaporator 내부의 체류시간 (residence time), 증발률 (evaporator rate), turn down ratio 등을 조절할 수 있으며 경우에 따라 두물질을 evaporator에 투입(feed)하여 연속적인 반응도 가능합니다. 특히 제약공정의 GMP design에 적합니다.
